What to take for smooth shine
The selection starts with a lamellar finish and then adds lightness, softness or colour support, so the shine looks clean rather than greasy.

Signs of dullness
When hair lacks shine
Shine disappears when the hair surface turns rough: the lengths catch light in patches, the ends look dry, and the colour seems flat even after washing. Here it matters not to overload the hair but to smooth the surface and leave a light finish.
01
The surface does not reflect light
The hair is clean but looks matte, as if the finish disappears the moment it dries.
02
The colour looks flat
The shade is there but without depth: a warm tone does not glow, blonde seems dry, a dark base loses its polish.
03
The ends spoil the overall look
The lengths may be fine around the face, but dry ends take away the sense of well-kept hair.
How to build the ritual
A ritual for shine
For a quick effect a finishing emulsion after washing is enough. If the dullness returns within a day, add care for the ends or a mask: shine holds better when the hair surface is neither dry nor rough.
-
01
Smooth after washing
An emulsion or a mask, so the surface reflects light better.
-
02
Seal the dry ends
A serum or leave-in on the lower third of the lengths.
-
03
Support the shade
A toning mask, if the colour has gone dull or lost its purity.
FAQ
Answers before you buy
Why is my hair dull after colouring?
After colouring or lightening the surface can become more porous. Light reflects unevenly, so even a beautiful colour looks drier and less expensive.
What gives shine fastest?
Lamellar care or a smoothing serum after washing. They work on the hair surface and quickly bring back an even reflection.
How do I avoid making my hair greasy?
Do not apply a dense finish near the roots and start with a small amount. For fine hair a light emulsion or a serum on the ends only is better.
Do I need a mask if I only want shine?
If the hair is not dry, a mask is optional. But when the shine disappears quickly, a mask helps even out the surface and the finish lasts longer.
Is shine connected to colour?
Yes. The tone can be right and still look flat without shine. And the other way round: a smooth finish makes the shade look deeper.
When is it worth taking the quiz?
If the dullness comes together with yellow tones, dryness or breakage, take the Shade Quiz so you do not assemble your care blindly.
